Stuck on you: Sweat-Proof Skincare

We’ve all been there- after spending a good hour prepping for the day, you step outside to have your entire work of art (your face) melt off in the heat. It seems as though you’re in a competition with mother nature and somehow, she always emerges victorious. Well, you’re in luck, because it doesn’t have to be like this. I know, I know, you’re thinking that this is too good to be true. Well think again, because I’m about to tell you all about our sweat-proof skincare BFFs here at Glow Recipe.

The All-Stars

First off, none other than one of our all time fav products- the J.One Jelly Pack. Those who have had the chance to use this product will already know why it’s so popular. The product 100% lives up to the hype and the phrase “makeup glue.” Personally, after using it once, I will never go back to any other primer. The key is all in the application, you have to glide it on and then pat it in to your face for maximum strength. Whatever you put on your skin after, whether it be foundation or sunscreen, you better believe that it will be secured onto your face for the entire day. What’s great about it is, when using it the Jelly Pack doubles as my moisturizer and primer, making my skin feel light and ready for a sweaty day in NYC.

Misting is one of my favorite things to do on a hot day, when I’m practically melting. The best face mist for summer, in my opinion, is the Whamisa Organic Flowers Olive Leaf Mist. It’s so light and refreshing, the perfect pick-me-up when I’m in the heat and feel like I can’t go on. It’s an instant hydrator that leaves me feeling refreshed and looking effortlessly dewy instead of grossly sweaty.

Of course, I can’t this list would not be complete without including a sunscreen! My favorite for the summer has been the Make P:rem Blue Ray Sun Cream. What I love about this product is the fact that it’s a physical sunscreen, which works great on my combination skin. Physical sunscreens don’t clog pores, making it perfect for sensitive and acne-prone skin. After application, there’s absolutely no white cast AND it’s shine free, have you ever heard of a sunscreen so amazing?? The cool thing about Make P:rem’s blue ray line is that it even works on cooling down the skin to counteract damage caused by infrared waves. It layers amazingly under any makeup I put on and holds well throughout the day.

If the heat gets to be all too much for my makeup and I forgot to use my Jelly Pack that day, I like to hit the refresh button with the Blithe Anti-Polluaging Himalayan Pink Salt Cleansing Water. This + a cotton pad = refreshed, renewed, happy skin. I love how even though I wasn’t over a sink doing a deep cleanse, that’s the feeling I get from this cleansing water. It completely detoxifies my skin from all the residue accumulated throughout the day. The defining factor of this particular cleansing water is that is the fact that it’s an “Anti-Polluaging Cleansing Water.” I know you’re sitting there thinking, “what the heck is that?” Well, Blithe incorporated technology that fights against aging caused by pollution, simply amazing!! After using this Pink Salt Cleansing water, I follow with the Whamisa Olive Leaf Face Mist and my skin is thanking me for giving it a refresher in the heat.

Get your glow on!

Hello, when you use the cleansing water and then spray the mist, is there a need for a moisturizer too? Do you still wash your face at night? Thanks!

Hi! When I do my cleansing water and spray mist routine it's usually in the middle of a hot day, and I don't use a moisturizer as I find the mist hydrating enough. And yes, I still wash my face at night to wash off all the sweat and dirt from the day! Hope this helps.
