What is a Cloudberry?

A cloudberry is a golden antioxidant-rich superfruit that contains 3x the Vitamin C of an orange and is naturally rich in Vitamin E, Omega-3 & Omega-6 fatty acids and ellagic acid, which protects skin from damaging free radicals and external stressors. The Cloudberry Concentrate in our formula is a blend of fruit extract and seed oil, wildcrafted in their natural habitats in Scandinavia and processed via an eco-friendly freeze-drying method that preserves nutrients at peak potency. This potent antioxidant is fermented to further help absorption and efficacy, and helps to brighten, even skin tone and protect skin from free radicals.

What is CoQ10?

CoQ10 is a powerful biocompatible antioxidant that strengthens skin while helping to boost the effectiveness of other key ingredients.  It’s known as “coenzyme” because it’s needed for other enzymes to function + synergizes  with other skincare to maximize benefits! CoQ10 boosts skin’s ability to retain moisture and reduce fine lines and wrinkles

What are amino acids and how do they benefit the skin?

Amino Acids are the building blocks of the skin and help to fortify the barrier and maintain skin hydration and health. The amino acids in this formula have been hydrolyzed from Oat and Collagen proteins for enhanced skin-softening and smoothing efficacy. 

What is the pH level of this formula?

This product is a liquid-gel type formulation that supplies moisture like water, and the acidity at which the product is formed is said to be neutral, with a pH about 6.3-6.8.

Where was the formula made?

Cloudberry Bright Essence Toner is made in Korea with globally sourced materials.

How is the Cloudberry in this formula sourced?

The cloudberry seed oil and fruit are both wildcrafted in their natural habitat, grown using organic practices and pesticide-free. They are processed through a freeze-drying method, known for using less energy and water,   while maintaining maximum potency from using the lower temperatures.

Where does the color come from?

The color is 100% natural, plant-derived coming from Capsicum Annuum (Red Pepper) Fruit Extract and Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, ingredients that also have skin benefits.

Is the fragrance natural?

Yes it is 100% naturally derived! The fragrance is derived from materials of natural origins, specifically from vegetables and plants.   We formulate using the minimum amount of fragrance to create a sensorial, enjoyable skincare experience. Fragrance is always less than 0.5% of our formulations, and all fragrances are vegan and free of PCM compounds, acetone, and much more.

What does the natural fragrance smell like?

The cloudberry fragrance smells like a burst of bright and juicy citrus!  It’s light, delicious and refreshing.

Is This Right for My Skin?

Does this product help fade hyperpigmentation?

The Cloudberry ingredients contain 3x the vitamin C of an orange and is highly effective in brightening and evening skin tone.  Additionally, CoQ10 works in synergy with Cloudberry to help boost its effectiveness.  For specific hyperpigment concerns, we recommend layering with our Guava Serum.

Is this product suitable for dry skin?

Yes!  This product is suitable for dry skin because it contains ingredients to help hydrate and condition the skin.  The fermented rice water helps to hydrate, calm and nourish skin, while evening skin tone and the amino acids work to maintain skin’s hydration, texture, resilience and overall healthy appearance. They diffuse moisture both through and into the skin, which keeps skin soft and nourished. 

Is this formula safe for sensitive skin?

This formula has been tested to be safe for sensitive skin.  We formulated with ingredients to ensure the product is at its most effective to help brighten and even skin tone as gently as possible.  This alcohol-free and acid-free toner was made with sensitive skin in mind.  Cloudberry and Fermented Rice Water help to soothe skin, while the Oat & Collagen Amino Acids hydrate to keep skin feeling soft and comfortable.

Is this formula suitable for younger consumers to use?

Yes, this formula is gentle enough for younger consumers to use as it has hydrating and nourishing ingredients. While we formulate our products to be gentle for generally all skin types, we recommend checking with a dermatologist if experiencing skin concerns at a young age

How To Use in Your Skincare Routine

How often can I use this essence toner?

You can use Cloudberry Essence Toner daily and twice a day, in the AM & PM.

Can you use this essence toner day and night?

Yes! It can be used either day or night or both. If used during the day, make sure to wear sunscreen at the end of your skincare routine.

In what order would this be applied in relation to your other serums?

Generally, products should be applied in order from thinnest to most dense. The Cloudberry Bright Essence Toner should be used after cleansing and prior to applying your serum and moisturizer.  This will help to prep your skin and allow for the subsequent ingredients to work more effectively.

Can I use this with my current toner? 

It depends on your toner’s ingredient list and consistency. If you already have our Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner, use that first to clear and unclog pores, then follow with Cloudberry Bright Essence Toner to brighten and hydrate for a radiant, even toned complexion. Both formulas should be gently pressed into skin upon application.

How long until I see results?

Within 2 weeks, you will start to see results after using this toner 2x a day.  The essence toner was tested and shown to make serums in your skincare routine more effective.  Within 4 weeks, skin will appear brighter and you will see an improvement in skin tone.

What is the difference between Cloudberry Essence and Watermelon Glow Toner?

Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner provides hard-hitting, dual pore-refining & hydrating skin benefits, while the Cloudberry Bright Essence Toner formula was developed to be a powerful, multi-tasking treatment with clinically-proven skin benefits in an intensely hydrating, acid-free and alcohol-free formulation.  It works in synergy with other skincare steps for maximum absorption and to enhance the delivery of active ingredients into skin. It levels-up your routine by synergizing with your next skincare steps.

Can I use Cloudberry Essence Toner and Watermelon Glow Toner in the same routine?

The Cloudberry Bright Essence Toner and Watermelon Glow Toner can either be used separately in your routine or can be used together in a multi-layered application.  The benefit of using both together is that the moisture level of skin can be increased in an efficient and effective way without the heaviness or greasiness that may come from traditional creams and oils. It’s also a great way to hydrate all skin types, providing the optimal balance of hydration and skin’s natural oils, leaving skin with a subtle dewy glow and feeling firm and supple.

Safety

Can this product be used around the eye area?

While Cloudberry is formulated to be gentle, we recommend using ophthalmologist-tested products around the often-sensitive eye area, such as our Guava or Avocado eye creams!

Is this product safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Cloudberry is formulated to be gentle overall and does not contain retinol or BHA! However we always recommend consulting your doctor for the best advice before using new products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Are there any other ingredients to avoid when using this serum?

Cloudberry Essence Toner is formulated to be used in any routine to maximize the absorption and benefits of your products! Apply Cloudberry Essence Toner directly after cleansing, and layer with your favorite serums, treatments, actives, and moisturizers.  The blend of ingredients in this formula were designed to be layered with all of our serums for enhanced benefits. While this essence toner is formulated with hydrating and soothing ingredients, we always recommend to patch test before use if you have sensitive skin.

What is the proper way to store my Cloudberry Toner Essence?

Keep in a cool, dry place. Do not keep in direct light.

What is the recyclability of the packaging?

Every part of this packaging is recyclable. The glass bottle is made with 70% PCR and the entire carton is 100% PCR can be recycled curbside.  The plastic cap and pump can be recycled through our Terracycle program.  Please rinse out the bottle before recycling!
