The Huxley Oil Essence is December’s Glow Gamechanger- a monthly product feature that highlights a treatment that’ll change your skincare game forever. For a limited time, shop the Oil Essence at a game-changing price here.
In skincare, as in life, there are some combinations that just make perfect sense. In life, we have peanut butter and jelly- in skincare, we have something a bit more luxe! The Huxley Oil Essence is a hybrid facial essence + facial oil, packing 61% precious, hand harvested Saharan Prickly Pear cactus extract. It’s the ideal texture that hits that serum/essence/ampoule sweet spot. Not too thin, and not too thick, an essence oil explodes onto the skin, spreading like an oil and absorbing like an essence, leaving behind an inner dewy radiance that’s earned it consistent 5-star ratings on glowrecipe.com and in the very discerning eyes of our team.
The Oil Essence is game-changing because it imparts an instant dose of moisture and calm to all skin types– a tall order that many products and treatments can’t deliver on due to the Goldilocks effect in skincare. Instead, this gorgeous treatment brings forth that healthy inner glow we all crave while saving major time an effort. Using a facial oil can be daunting for a lot of skin types, as they’re often heavy and sit on the surface of the skin for hours. The Oil Essence cuts through the clutter and delivers what we love most about essences- hydration- and what we love most about oils- that lit-from-within, plumped visage that belies a well rested individual with way more time on their hands than we actually have!
It’s also a potent source of antioxidants, which help to fight free radicals and deter visible signs of aging and can also help to keep skin clear and nourished. The idea behind antioxidants, aside from their potent anti-aging effects, is that they help to keep the surface of the skin at it’s best. Blackheads and sebaceous filaments can be combatted with an Aqua Peeler, sure, but they come back because of the oxidizing that turns them brown and visible. Potent antioxidants like Prickly Pear keep sebum from oxidizing, and as a result get another check on my list: they keep pores looking their best, when combined with a bi-weekly exfoliator.
But why do we keep reaching for the Oil Essence? Our skincare cupboards are already so packed. What sets this one apart is it’s ability to deeply penetrate the skin while also sealing that moisture in. Skin feels and looks instantly quenched, and that’s the hallmark of a good timesaver. The GR team is about K-beauty for the every-woman (and every-man!), and we know that that 5-step regimen is sometimes only possible once every five days. Combining a just-right measure of moisture, hydration, and oil is just the ticket for our busiest days, and nights when sinking into a warm bed is the first thing on your to-do list.
Shop the Oil Essence on our Glow Gamechanger page until December 31st. Let us know your thoughts and leave us your reviews online and on social media using #GlowGamechanger- we cannot wait to hear what you think!
Happy gamechanging,
Katie

I am living in a tropical country the Philippines. I have dry sensitive skin and I'm currently looking for an essence that would combat my dry, sensitive, and aging skin. Which amongst your essences would you recommend with my Huxley anti gravity moisturizer? Thank you!
I have acne prone skin and acne scars. What products do you suggest that aren't multi steps?
I just ordered this product. for the last few days i've been 3 drops of the whamisa face oil with my emulsion oil and boy what an improvement in this east coast weather. When i get the essence oil though can I use it after the whamisa essence toner then move onto my lotion without the added oil? I'm trying to see if i want to use this at night or alternate weekly...decisions decisions. Glow Team your take would be appreciated.
Hi Laurie, thanks for your question! That sounds like a great routine since the Oil Essence has over 60% Prickly Pear Cactus Oil, there is plenty of hydration and nourishment in there so that you don't have to layer on another oil. Just seal it all in with a moisturizing lotion or cream.
thank you for the advise. all my products came in last night and i used the whamisa toner and the huxley essence oil on top and I have to say my face hasn't felt tight at all today and i was complimented by my co-worker for having a dewy look to my skin. YAY!
Laurie, that's so amazing to hear!! <3
I have this oil and I never know how to use it. I have retinols as well as watery serums, not sure what order to use with this product.
Hi Alexa! This could also go in the category of a watery serum since it's so nutrient-packed. In terms of order, this would layer great between your retinol and moisturizer
