Worth One’s Salt: Blithe’s New Anti-Polluaging Pink Himalayan Salt Cleansing Water

Blithe’s line of products are all geared and targeted towards busy, metropolitan women who are seeking quick solutions for their busy lifestyles. And thus, the 15 second splash masks and hybrid, multi-hyphenate pressed serums were born. An overlooked part of the busy city life is it’s impact on skin – crowded subways, bumper-to-bumper traffic, and tall buildings all create an environment of dirt and pollution that cling to skin. Blithe calls these effects ‘polluaging,’ a blend word that mashes pollution and aging together.

The newest launch from Blithe addresses the busy lifestyle and ‘polluaging’ aspect of city life with the Anti-Polluaging Himalayan Pink Salt Cleansing Water that quickly sweeps away makeup and imparts skin with antioxidants that protect and defend skin from photo-aging and environmental stressors.

We road-tested the Cleansing Water, and came up with a nickname of the ‘Pink Duster‘ (as in like a feather duster) since Himalayan Pink Salt absorbs dust, pollen, and pollution and carries them away from pores, literally sweeping away residue.

Pink Salt… for your skin?

The concept of applying salt water, or any type of salt to your skin in scary since its absorbs moisture, and that’s the number one no-no for skin care! Himalayan Pink Salt was specifically chosen for its high mineral content, ability to detoxify the skin and body, healing properties, and its relatively low sodium content. A low sodium content means this salt is not as briney (or salty) than your regular table salt.

Though the Anti-Polluaging Cleansing Water contains 44% of the pink salt water, it is an incredibly gentle and soft cleansing water that doesn’t dry out skin or leave any oily residue. Osmotic pressure also then returns hydration and water to the skin, ensuring a plumpness. Bolstered with a dozen antioxidant-rich botanical extracts, the cleansing water has a comforting texture that infuses skin with hydration.

It’s safe to say that we love our cushion-y, ‘bouncy’ textured products (see the highly sought-after Whamisa Deep Rich Essence Toner). There is something about that comforting texture that immediately signals a nourishing and skin-softening product, and that’s rare to find in a cleansing water since its main function is to sweep away makeup.

How It Works

With the ‘bouncy’ texture comes complete nourishment and hydration. Cleansing waters generally fall into a couple categories after it removes makeup: too drying or too oily. Surprisingly, Blithe’s cleansing water definitely hydrates skin afterwards without a sheen of oil, defying my expectations for cleansing waters.

Soaking a cotton pad with the cleansing water, and a few seconds of light pressure easily erases and sweeps away makeup. Even around the sensitive eye area with waterproof eyeliner and mascara, there was little to no stinging.

Watch how easily it removes makeup!

Could I use this at night after a day of makeup in place of double cleansing ? I'm going on a 10day trip and trying to pack as light as possible :) If not could you suggest any other night cleansing routine products that are packer friendly? Thanks!

What if you don't wear makeup? I always see cleaning oils and water advertised for people who wear makeup but I don't. Can i use it as a regular cleanser?

Could I use this to replace my first step in the morning like I do with the son & park beauty water? I'm super lazy in the morning so I use it for my 1st & 2nd step. Then I got straight to serum then the j. one jelly pack.
